Look Cycle USA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has initiated a voluntary recall and upgrade program isolated to Keo chromoly axle bicycle pedal models manufactured prior to January 2006. The steel axles inside the pedals can break, posing a fall hazard to cyclists. Look Cycle has received 14 reports of incidents with broken Keo pedals, including 7 injuries which resulted in scrapes, cuts, contusions, elbow pain, and a knee injury.
If you own a pair of the recalled Look Keo pedals, immediately stop using them and return them to the place of purchase, or contact Look Cycle USA to arrange for shipping and free repair.
The recalled Keo pedals actually comply with CPSC and European safety standards, but your satisfaction and safety come first at Look, which is why we will replace your first-generation Keo chromoly axles with a newer, improved design at no cost to you.
Look apologizes for any inconvenience, and assures you that with the Keo axle upgrade you will still be riding the world’s best pedals.
